A low stakes slice of life comedy about the Girl's Baseball Club that take themselves way too seriously. This drawing has lots of artifacts from me rushing the lineart and working with a laptop trackpad thing. Instead of trying to get re acquianted with traditional art tools, I'm going to try and master the simple but precise tools that digital art has to offer; I think using the line tool to make geometric guidelines and then draw over them is a viable method, and it's easy as hell! (When you use references and don't rush it)
Takamura Junko: She was (reluctantly) club president by default because nobody else felt qualified. Baseball otaku and star student.
Fujimura Mika: Star player and coolest girl in the group. Played many sports since childhood but settled on baseball after meeting Junko and finding they had it in common. Talented pitcher but cannot bat for the life of her (scared of getting hit.)
Iwai Megumi: Designated "Boku girl" and secret weapon of the group. Comeback machine but lazy when the stakes are low.
Konno Makoto: Only joined the club after being invited by Junko (they needed another member and she plays the organ which is technically related to baseball.) Not good at baseball but still has fun!
(Placeholder name lol) In an alternate history Kyoto, the heart of the occult renaissance; there is an underground black market for the truly strange. Organized crime and eccentric wealth attend these auctions to buy the most valuable artifacts for sale in the world, demons sealed in mirrors, pristine ancient tomes, oddities that defy sense and come with mysterious powers.
In order to prevent a worst case scenario, a mystic task force was established to track down and neutralize whatever threats come to the attention of the Occult Affairs Bureau.
The setting takes place in an alternate timeline similar to ours but where various worldwide occult concepts are real and as you can guess by the first paragraph, there is some supernatural business going down in Kyoto. I won't put a big lecture on the metaphysics here but it is a sort of syncretism of esoteric Budhhism and western Occultism, a world where magic is an open secret known only to the *too* curious.
There is no true protagonist as this is most likely going to become some sort of anthology series with reoccuring important people but no central one.
1st Rank Occult Operations Specialist working *with* the Bureau. Fused with the left eye of a Saint which grants her the ability to perform miracles. Her unconventional name is a result of her unconventional upbringing; she is Japanese but was unofficially (and then legally later) adopted by a prominent German family within the Bureau and kept her given name while adding "Von Zöllner". There is an unspoken understanding that her loyalty to the Bureau is entirely conditional; her true priorities lie with herself, and by extension her family, which she views as her only responsibility.
